Compared to their peers, these mowers are a best buy.  Their best buy mower is good at mulching and side discharging and very good at lawn evenness of cut, bagging, handling and ease of use.  Expect to pay $240 for the highly recommended Cub Cadet 11A-18MC, Cub Cadet 11A-18M9 or the clone Yard Man 11A-18M9.

Cub Cadet Automatic Drive Lawn Tractors

Their riding mowers have the biggest variation, from being some of the highest rated lawn mowers to some of the lowest.  The good new is their highest rated mower Cub Cadet GT 2042 is excellent at handling and at mulching and at ease of use and very good at lawn evenness of cut,  side discharging and bagging.  At $3600 it is competitive with the John Deere X304.  Or save your self $1900 - $2100 and for only $1500 - $1700 buy either the Cub Cadet LTX1045 13RX91AT or LTX1040 13RX90AR or LTX1040 13WX90AS or 13WX91AT.  Mulching and ease of use drop from excellent to very good - and the price drops almost $2000!

If you're looking for a deck bigger than 46", remember there are none of those bigger decks of any brand that rate above good for side discharge.  It lawn appearance is important to you, stick with a 46" or smaller deck.  In fact the big Cub Cadet LTX 1050 rates only good at side discharge and only fair at bagging.

Cub Cadet Zero Turn Lawn Tractors

Within zero turn mowers, the Cub cadet has both top and midrange performers.  Expect good lawn evenness of cut, very good side discharging, mulching, handling and ease of use but only fair bagging. If you are looking for a zero turn, consider the Cub Cadet RZT42 17WF2ACS which is very good at everything and at $2500 is $1100 cheaper than the $3600 Z Force S 46 17AF5BHH.  Again, if lawn appearance is important, take a look at Cub Cadet Z Force S 46 and RZT 42.  If lawn appearance is important to you, stay away from the decks bigger than 46".  You're paying $3000-$4000 which is more money for less lawn appearance - lawn look better with their 46" or smaller decks.
