John Deere Self-propelled Gas Walk Behind Lawn Mower

Compared to their peers, these mowers are in the middle.  Their highest rated lawn mowers like the John Deere JS46 are good at mulching.  and very  good at bagging, handling, side discharge and ease of use.  Expect to pay $500 for a mower that delivers a good looking lawn.  The John Deere JS26 can be purchased for $350 but drop to good in bagging and ease of use.

John Deere Automatic Drive Tractors 

These riding mowers have almost the highest overall ratings.  You can expect very good lawn evenness of cut, side discharging, mulching and ease of use and excellent bagging and handling.  You can pay as much as $3600 for a top rated lawn tractor John Deere X304 or as little as $1700 for a best buy lawn tractor John Deere D110.

For $3000 to $3600 you take a look at model John Deere X300 and X304.  You get great performance and they will even throw in cruise control!

But I think the best bang for the buck are the John Deere D110, D120 and D130.  For $1700 to $1900 you get almost the same performance as the $3000+ big brothers without spending the big money. 

If you must have a big deck, i.e., 48", look at the John Deere D140 or D150 or D160.  You pay $2000 to $2600 and the big decks don't side discharge above a good rating.  If you need better side discharge, move down to a 42" deck and save yourself a few bucks while you improve the look of your lawn.

John Deere Zero Turn Lawn Tractors

Within zero turn mowers, the John Deere is a top performer, with good to very good performance in every aspect.  At $3000, the John Deere Z225 is an averageprice for a name brand high performance zero turn lawn mower.

With John Deere's ability to give you very good to excellent performance for an average price, you have to believe it's true - nothing runs like a deer.  Buy a John Deere, especially the riding mower ( lawn tractor) and your mower delivers a superior lawn.
